FACE will this year hold its Christmas Fair on Saturday 3 December at the Western General Hospital (Edinburgh Cancer Centre). Entry is free and there will be the usual mix of stalls, entertainment and refreshments. It has been a great success over many years - enjoyed by all who can make it along. Last year despite the adverse weather over £7000 was raised on the day - which was a brilliant result.

Each year FACE arrange for a group of children to meet Santa Claus in Lapland. It is a wonderful experience for the children – many of them very ill or recovering from treatment.

The dedicated support party, who look after the children, are led by Trustee John Macaulay – who organises the trip.

The trip is normally arranged on a date close to Christmas with preparations going on through the year.

For the last few years FACE have taken part in the Festival Cavalcade – thanks to the valued support we receive from Chaplins Disco.

Sadly the council announced there will be no Festival Cavalcade this year. Back 2012.

This year our friends in Musselburgh will hold their coffee afternoon on Saturday 8 October in the Loretto Church Hall (from 2pm to 4pm). Over the years - come rain or shine - it has always been an enjoyable and successful fundraising event.

F.A.C.E. hold their annual Golf Day on Sunday 2nd October at Liberton Golf Club, Edinburgh. In previous years it has been a joint fundraising event with Radio Forth but this year they are unable to take part. The event has always been a great success. Please contact Craig if you are interested in taking part.

Back by popular demand - the Soul Kings are live at the Edinburgh Corn Exchange on Saturday 12th November. With music also provided by Chaplins Disco the night (organised by John Macaulay) promises to be a great success. Tickets available through John.

FACE were on hand to welcome Santa to Dobbies Garden Centre (Eskbank) in November 2010 and collect donations. Thanks to Jim Black and John Macaulay for setting up the link with Dobbies - and for the hot rolls.

Vivian Welsh and friends are holding a race night to raise funds for FACE and the Lapland trip. The venue is the Mint Casino in Leith. Kick off 7.30pm. Tickets cost £10 and cover a 3 course buffet and £5 free table bet.
Tickets available from Vivian on 07549242710.
