Last year FACE held its Christmas Fair on Saturday 3 December at the Western General Hospital (Edinburgh Cancer Centre). Opened by Jenny Gordon (We Will Rock You) it was a great success with £11,000 raised on the day. There is so much work that goes into the fair - in the months before and on the day. Thanks to everyone involved and to all those who came along on the day.p>
On Sunday 18 December 2011 FACE took a group of children to meet Santa Claus in Lapland. It was once again a wonderful experience for the children – many of them very ill or recovering from treatment. The dedicated support party, who look after the children, were led by Trustee John Macaulay – who organises the trip.
Back by popular demand - the Soul Kings were live at the Edinburgh Corn Exchange last year on Saturday 12th November. With music also provided by Chaplins Disco the night was once again a great success. It included a raffle & auction. Thanks to all those involved in the organisation, to the Soul Kings for their support - and to all those there on the night. Details for 2012 to follow.
Traditionally our friends in Musselburgh hold their coffee afternoon in October in the Loretto Church Hall (from 2pm to 4pm). In 2011 despite the rain it was once again a great success with over £2000 raised for FACE. Thanks to all those involved over many years. 2012 details to follow.
Last year F.A.C.E. held their annual Golf Day in October at Liberton Golf Club, Edinburgh. Despite having to be rescheduled due to adverse weather it was once again a great success. Thanks to all those who support the event. Details for 2012 to follow.
A fun night to raise funds for F.A.C.E is being held on 23rd March at the Sighthill Bowling Club. It starts at 7.30 and tickets are £5 each. Bingo, music, raffles and loads more on the night. A quiz and auction night is being held at the Aberdeenshire Cricket Club on Thursday 15 March to raise funds for FACE. FACE held a fundraising fashion show in February. The venue 102-104 George Street in Edinburgh - premises of hosts Viyella / CC / Austin Reed. An enjoyable evening for the ladies - and one lucky gentleman. The event raised £650 for FACE. Thanks to our hosts, organiser Hamish Stears and all those who helped or supported the event.
